Kitchen discounts are the easiest category to scan and the easiest to be wrong about. Small appliances carry inflated list prices more often than anything else on this site, because a $109.99 “list“ on a coffee maker is frequently a number that existed for one week in 2023. So read the percentage as a claim about Amazon’s own reference price, not as a claim about what the thing is worth.

What the sweep actually finds is narrower than the category sounds. Today it returned four cutting boards and two near-identical cookware sets out of nine slots. That is not a bug in the ranking — it is what happens when one seller runs a promotion across a product line and every variant clears the discount floor at once. Read a category page as a snapshot of who is promoting today, not as a survey of the category.

The practical consequence: when a feed goes monotonous like this, the deepest percentage is usually not the best buy. It is the item whose seller most wanted the placement.
